Favia Coral, Favia fragum, is known by an assortment of common names including Honeycomb Coral, Moon Coral, Pineapple, or Worm Coral. Also known as Favites Brain Coral, it is found in a wide variety of colorations from duller flesh-tones to bright orange-yellows. Its tentacles can extend to a distance approximately equal to the diameter of the corals main body. Because of this, it must be placed a safe distance from other corals. Requiring a medium water flow, it is perfectly content resting on the bottom of the home aquarium. As with most other members of Large Polyp Stonys, maintaining a proper calcium level is an important key to successful development. It will definitely benefit from occasional target feedings of plankton or brine shrimp.
